    A simple dietary additive
A simple dietary additive plan for women. Helps in boosting the feel- good chemicals during PMS and to reduce peri and post menopausal symptoms. Symptoms troubling women during PMS are: fatigue, irritability, aches and pains, lethargy, mood swings and sleep disturbances. Along with specific constitutional remedy and a heart to heart talk session, routines of stretches and slow yet strong pace of workout is what I advice. The changes in diet and lifestyle at least ten days ahead of the expected cycle works like magic. The skeleton of additives is: Eating an extra portion of papaya helps in regulating the cycle and helps prevent cramps in PMS. Try a raw papaya sabji for variety. Half a cup of pomegranate juice gives much needed antioxidants. (Eating the fruit is equally beneficial ) Early morning and evening detox with a glass of soaked methi sprouts water Load up with potassium. To relieve bloating and body aches. Bananas, figs , leafy veggies and tender coconut water. Freshly squeezed undiluted grape juice helps in preventing migraines in PMS phase Sesame seeds ( til laddoo/ chickee) and flaxseeds help woth their fibre rich and omega 3 properties. A little amount of Soya helps. Add soya flour in the atta or eat the soya nuggets or drink a cup of soya milk Avoid rich foods and processed foods. Stay off sugar as much as possible. Keep caffeine to the minimum. Mostly important : take it easy. Ask for help. Go for nature walks and listen to music. Meditate . Breathe. Relax.

I am sure in a homeopathi
I am sure in a homeopathic physicians practice one is frequently asked by parents these questions : 1. How do I ensure my child is eating a well balanced diet. 2. How do I ensure that the diet is improving my child's immunity and resistance against disease/ illness . 3. How to form a positive and long term sustainable diet pattern and one that is interesting and do able . I always begin my sharing what I have done to bring about the change in my children. Let me start with the question number 1 and share how I plan the main meals. We call it Fun Khana Times! Some simple rules I follow for myself : 1. I plan in advance. I write down the menu of the week and I think colorful ! Reds , greens, yellows and think different food groups to be included daily. So a daily portion of proteins ( dals, soups/sprouts), vitamins and minerals with fiber(veggies!! And salads), carbs( rotis, rice ) , fats ( a freshly made dollop of ghee) and pro biotics ( curd , yogurt smoothie, buttermilk) to help digestion and absorption of nutrients ! 2. Once the menu is planned I involve the children who at times sit and want to make the menu and the meal fancy. So I encourage them in doing some craft and make a menu card and cutting the veggies or plating the salad. It gives them a sense of how much thought , care and love goes into the food. On weekends they love setting the table and some candles and music too in the background! ( at the risk of being called elaborate , I am sharing this , since it has worked wonders with some patients with fussy and reluctant little patients of mine). My children ideally like sitting cross legged And eating with their fingers! Any novelty is fun. Like a picnic in the balcony. All these for weekends specials at Fun Khana Times. 3. They serve themselves and portions they decide. But everything that has been cooked has to be tasted/ sampled. That way I have slowly ensured that all food groups has been eaten and the children have been taught to enjoy and eat variety. 3.. I absolutely have No gadgets policy at mealtimes and bedtimes. I follow that rule myself. So no tv or iPads. It gives us time to plan the day ahead with lot of laughter at breakfast time and to discuss the day gone by with satisfaction. This is my simple and wholesome plan for my kids ( and little angels , my little patients ) Important thought here is a simple , wholesome , homely meal and that with fresh ingredients offers a better balanced diet !! Would love to get some more ideas. We have such lovely child counsellors and dieticians in this panel ! To a happier and healthier fun food times!
